Simplify
Think about it, how much of what you do actually matters in the next 6 months? If I'm real with myself, only very little of what I do every day contributes to the bigger picture.
Keep things lean. Shed the extra layers of fat so that you move faster.
Focus on what's important. Ask this question, is what I'm doing going to matter in the near future?
Be flexible with the execution. Things change, so change faster. Don't waste time getting stuck with the same old habits.
Feeling tired is not the same as being productive. Sure, you might have been busy today. But did you add value, or was it just routine work?
Kill the time thieves. Every time I tap open Instagram, 15 minutes go by. Repeat it four times and an hour burns away just like that.
That purple culprit
Of course, there are some routine things that you can't avoid. It's not productive work, but it still has to be done. I find predictable activities are best managed by optimising them. You always fold your clothes, wash the dishes and drive to work the same way. Having a mental plan about what do to next saves me the effort of having to think about it in the first place. And doing the easy things first keeps me from procrastinating and building up a backlog of to-dos.
Time to simplify.
