I find that writing about something helps me to understand that subject better.

When explaining something to someone else, I need to first comprehend it for myself first. This makes me conscious of the things I don't know. Google, Google, Google. I find that it's the fastest way to learn something.

I do three things when I write:

1. Organize what I know.
2. Understand what I don't know.
3. Fill in the blanks.

Writing is time consuming. A short post can take me up to 2 hours because I'm always editing the choice of words and including as much detail as possible. I need to stop procrastinating on this part.

Sometimes even after putting up a post, I still don't always understand that subject. But I can say that it's better than not getting started at all. And that makes a second encounter with the topic much easier to handle.
